We were approached by Innerspace Cheshire who had just secured a new business property, which had enough space for them to expand into from their existing rented warehouse where they had grown out of.
The new premises they had purchased was a completely empty building, which had been built on a business park in Whitchurch with only a main 3-phase supply into the building. This meant no lights, no power points and no distribution boards.
Following a detailed brief from the owners of the business, Richard and Ian explained what their vision of the site would look like and what areas would cover different aspects of the function that the business would do. This included a new office block being built within the building, a workshop where their fabulous work could be made, and warehouse storage areas, as well as amenities block for the staff to eat, rest and feel inspired for creative working.
We started off with discussing how the building would evolve and what solutions we could offer them to satisfy their immediate and future requirements. After agreeing the build and setting out our safety control measures, they set us free to design and build the main electrical infrastructure with base lighting – from high bay lighting to convenient distribution board locations to expand the electrical network from.
Every aspect, from the electrical heating of water and the environment, to enough capacity and power points for offices, meeting rooms, workshops and appropriate lighting levels for all areas, was carefully calculated to provide the best solution for each. We also factored in emergency lighting into our design to ensure safety was always prominent within every small detail.
Since the original install, the building has further evolved and expanded to include more workshop space, better warehouse storage and a new office area above the existing office space. With the distribution system already predesigned to be expandable, the upgrades have had minimal disruption to operations, allowing the company to continue to function alongside our work.
This site reflects the bespoke nature of Innerspace Cheshire, with nearly everything in the space an echo of the beautiful products they produce.
